What is PPEC?
Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) centers are specialized facilities that provide medical care, therapeutic, and educational services to medically complex and fragile children outside of a traditional hospital setting. These centers are designed to offer a supportive environment for children with chronic illnesses, disabilities, or those recovering from surgeries or other medical procedures. It is comprised of high-level skilled nursing with critical care experience. It is structured to follow the guidance and prescription of a medical provider to support each child's needs.

Therapeutic Services
Healthcare for Kids has many trusted partners to offer a range of therapeutic services on site such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, music therapy, and respiratory therapy, tailored to each medically fragile child's needs.
Physical Therapy
Motor Skills Development to help meet age-appropriate controls for balance, stability, walking, and other movements.
Occupational Therapy
Helps prepare medically fragile children that have physical, sensory, or cognitive disabilities. OT allows each child to get individual and focused assistance to help meet important developmental milestones.
Speech Therapy
Early onset conditions often times prevent and slow the development of speech for young children. ST helps develop children to improve communication skills and assist in breaking down speech impediments and other barriers around communication. ST can also improve swallowing and feeding function.

In states like Florida, it is PPEC or Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care, and in other states they use PDHC or Pediatric Day Health Center.
